What type of character is the Protagonist?

It is a snowy mountain area, covered with many trees, probably in northern Canada because it said a river went to the arctic ocean. This happened in the past because trapper’s don’t ski anymore.

Describe the main conflict:Dave Conroy is trying to decide if he should stop and make a fire and camp under a tree or keep going and to to make it to a cabin. He should probably stop but he keeps going, because a cabin would be nice and warm.
Describe the Climax of the Story: I think the climax of this story is when Dave Conroy falls off his skis and land in the river, because if he didn’t get wet he probably wouldn’t have froze his fingers and he would be able to light a fire.
How does the Protagonist change over the course of the story?
Dave Conroy realizes that he is not going to be able to make it to the next cabin because he is to exhausted and his hands and feet are to cold. He realizes that he should have stopped and lit a fire when he fell into the river.
Describe the relationship between the title and the theme.
The theme is that sometimes a man just wants to keep going and is tempted by something to keep going, like in the story, Dave Conroy kept going because he wanted to get to the nice warm cabin. It connects to the title because he is traveling in the mountains and not stopping just going till he cant go anymore.
How does the main conflict help to illustrate the theme?
The main conflict is connected to the theme because the conflict is Dave Conroy’s mind and he wants to go further and journey to the cabin but his body cant take it. He think that it will all be fine, and that someone will come get him. But the author makes it so that there is not all ways a happy ending and that no one was going to come get him.
How does the climax help to illustrate the theme?
The climax is when he falls into the river and soaks his hands. He probably should not have looked back while skiing. And that this event led to all of his bad choices.

Irony: He says he was going the easy way but it ends up being really hard.
Imagery: Imagery is to picture an image in your mind like Dave Conroy picturing himself in a warm cabin while he hulusinated.

The class theme is that being human is being generous and feeling for people and things. And your decisions make them. And in the story Dave Conroys decisions led to his many mistakes and finally his death.
